THE LITTLE PUB WITH THE BIG GARDEN

We are a visitor friendly locals’ pub - traditional without being old-fashioned.  People gather here for exceptional real ale, great cider, lively chat and so much more, including live music, book clubs, poetry groups, our community fundraiser quiz nights and even a bit of crafting (check out Purl and a Pint).

We have one of the biggest all-weather gardens in the area, a great place to enjoy the sunshine and have a drink with the family (dogs on leads welcome).  We love local product (check out our CAMRA Good Beer Guide listing) and have an increasingly local selection of ciders, lagers & spirits as well as premium brands and an interesting choice of wines.

Our accommodation features two charming double en-suite B&B rooms, plus a studio apartment with king size bed, sofa bed and kitchen dining space.

ROGER BEAUJOLAIS
with Neil Burns & Kevin Sanders

Sunday 5th May 2024

Roger Beaujolais is considered one of the top vibes players in Europe.  Accoladed as a session player over the last 3 decades, having worked with Robert Plant, The Chevalier Brothers, Paul Weller, Kirsty MacColl to name a few.  As a jazz band leader signed to the Acid Jazz label in the 90’s, he topped the USA jazz/funk charts.  Today he mostly performs with his quartet and trio that include some of the best UK jazz musicians, playing virtually acoustic jazz, original compositions plus hard bop classics.  Touring in the West Country with Kevin Sanders (double bass ) and Neil Burns (guitar ) coincides with the release of his new album “bags of vibes “ a tribute to Milt Jackson.  He is off to Tokyo in June with Fairground Atrraction of which he was a founder member and who have just reformed.  Totnes  today, Tokyo tomorrow!
